Beautifully bound in purple velvet with silver clasps, this King James New Testament was printed in London in 1637. The original title page contains the name of God in Hebrew and the four evangelists in each corner. The printer added a decorative element to this edition of the New Testament by placing fleurs-de-lis as a border around the table of contents and as ornamentation before the opening book of Matthew.
