The Gospel Tide Hour was a popular religious radio program founded in 1946 by Rev. Charlie Byers and based out of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Byers was one of many ministers in the mid-twentieth century who embraced mass media to reach new audiences. Like other religious programs, The Gospel Tide Hour featured a mixture of sermons, Bible lessons, and gospel music, helping to usher in a new era of mass ministry that fundamentally changed the way people heard the Bible. This fundraising leaflet shows Byers recording at the Chambersburg studio. Today, The Gospel Tide Broadcasting Association continues this ministry, broadcasting in nine countries and in 27 languages.
