This songbook was written by Wendell P. Loveless (1892–1987) and William M. Runyan (1870–1957). Runyan was a Methodist minister who later served as editor of Christian Workers Magazine and Hope Publishing Company. He wrote several hymn tunes, gospel songs, and hymn texts, his most famous being “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” in 1923. The text, written by Runyan, was later joined by the music most associated with the song today, composed by Thomas Obadiah Chisholm.
