William Tyndale’s New Testament was the first to be printed in English, first appearing in 1526. This New Testament contains many woodcut illustrations. The general title page includes a woodcut portrait of Edward VI. Throughout the text, many woodcuts depict scenes from the New Testament. In the Gospels, the four evangelists and the apostles are illustrated, and in Revelation, twenty-one woodcuts appear. This copy is missing the second title page, the calendar, and Revelation 20:4–21:6.
