The New International Version was first published in 1978, with updates in 1984 and 2011. It is one of the most popular English translations of the Bible and has approximately 500 million copies in print. The translation was developed by a team of biblical scholars who translated texts from the original languages into modern English. The approach was one that focused on “balancing transparency to the original [texts] with clarity of meaning” in order to produce an accurate text in modern English.

Printed in 2011 by Zondervan Publishing House, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Purchased in 2016 by Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.
