The Tanach: The Stone Edition is a popular English translation of the Hebrew Bible accompanied by the Hebrew text in parallel. First printed in 1996, it contains the 24 books of the Hebrew Bible, consisting of the Torah (the Law), the Nevi’im (the Prophets), and the Ketuvim (the Writings). It was edited by Rabbi Nosson Scherman, together with contributing editors, and overseen by an international board of governors. A unique feature of the English translation is the use of HASHEM (“the Name”) in place of the name for God, which is often rendered as LORD in English texts.

Printed in 2011 by Messorah Publications, Brooklyn, New York; Purchased in 2016 by Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.
