Historie des Ouden en Nieuwen Testaments (History of the Old and New Testament) was published in 1700 by Pieter Mortier, a mapmaker, engraver, and printer in Amsterdam. The text was written by David Martin, a French-Protestant pastor and theologian, which Mortier supplemented with more than 400 engravings of biblical scenes by artists such as Jan Luyken and Bernard Picart. In addition to these illustrations, Mortier’s work also includes maps and portraits. It was published in both Dutch and English in the same year, using the same plates. This copy is in Dutch.

Printed in 1700 by Pieter Mortier, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Acquired by 2010 by Antiquariat FORUM, Utrecht, the Netherlands; Privately purchased in 2010 by Green Collection, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Donated in 2017 to National Christian Foundation (later The Signatry), under the curatorial care of Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.[1]

[1] Volume II of this work remains in the Green Collection.
