The London Gazette is an official journal of record for the United Kingdom’s government. This edition, number 16014, reports on information from March 24 through March 28, 1807. In the right-hand column of the first page, The London Gazette records royal assent was given to "An Act for the Abolition of the Slave Trade" on March 25, 1807. This act, sometimes called the Slave Trade Act of 1807, prohibited the slave trade throughout the British Empire.

Purchased between 1981 and 2014 by Andrew Stimer, private collector, Camarillo, California; Privately purchased in 2014 by Green Collection, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Donated in 2017 to National Christian Foundation (later The Signatry), under the curatorial care of Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.
