Written by C. S. Lewis, The Last Battle, published in 1956, is the seventh and final novel in The Chronicles of Narnia series. Set some 2,500 Narnian years after the creation of the Narnia in _The Magician’s Nephew_¸ The Last Battle tells the story of the end of the world of Narnia. Set almost entirely in Narnia, it tells of a false Aslan who has taken over and concludes with the termination of the world by the true Aslan after the battle. In Narnia, Aslan—a talking lion and the king of beasts—represents Jesus. This copy is a first edition, first impression.

Printed in 1956 by The Bodley Head, London, England. Acquired by Dr. Edwin Brown (1926–2015); Purchased after 2013 by Andrew Stimer, Camarillo, California;[1] Privately purchased in 2014 by Green Collection, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Donated in 2016 to National Christian Foundation (later The Signatry), under the curatorial care of Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.

Notes: [1] Information from Stimer states that he purchased this work from Dr. Edwin Brown, an avid reader and collector of Lewis’s works. Brown sold the majority of his collection to a library in 2013, and Stimer purchased the remaining Lewis material afterward.
