This is the first complete Bible in Canarese, a language known today as Kannada, which is spoken primarily by people in the South Indian state of Karnataka and by linguistic minorities in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Mahaashtra, Kerala, and Goa. With roughly 40 million native speakers, Kannada ranks 33rd in the list of most spoken languages in the world. It is the official and administrative language of the state of Karnataka. The Bible is bound in contemporary cloth boards, with a calf spine and repaired calf corners.
