This work contains prayers of Armenian Patriarch Nerses IV (1102–1173), also known as Nerses the Gracious. It was printed by the Mekhitarist monastic order of the Monastero di San Lazzaro degli Armeni located at the Venetian island of St. Lazarus. The book presents Nerses’s prayers in 24 different languages, including Latin, Greek, Armenian, and, for the first time in this fourth edition, Chinese. The book is bound in a Venetian binding, with an ornamental gilt spine and Moroccan tile label.

Acquired by 2017 or 2018 by Jan Trayer, location unknown; Gifted around 2017 or 2018 to Edward Lawreusou, location unknown.[1] Purchased by 2018 by Dr. Ted Steinbock, private collector, Louisville, Kentucky;[2] Privately purchased in 2020 by Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.
