Hugh Miller was a Scottish geologist and Christian who wrote extensively on the relationship between the Bible and geology. Miller rejected the evolutionary theories of his day as unsupported by the currently available evidence but insisted that geology proved the earth was extremely old. In The Testimony of the Rocks, he argued that the geological processes which shaped the earth demonstrated the wisdom, power, and design of God. The book was published posthumously the year after his death.
