Billy Graham published this collection of responses to readers of his newspaper advice column, “My Answer,” in 1960. Graham was an American revivalist who embraced mass media to reinvent the revival tradition for the post-World War II era. Over a 70-year period, he preached to more people in live audiences than anyone else in history—about 215 million people in nearly 100 countries and territories. Whether in radio, television, print, or in person, Graham’s message drew heavily from the Bible. Graham began writing “My Answer” in the 1950s, which was syndicated by the Chicago Tribune and printed in newspapers throughout the United States. The columns compiled in this book apply biblical teachings to topics ranging from marriage and relationships to war and politics.

Printed in 1960 by Doubleday and Company, Garden City, New York. Acquired by 2020 by Ted Steinbock, private collector, Louisville, Kentucky; Privately purchased in 2020 by Museum of the Bible, Washington, DC.
